My childhood was super fun and adventurous. My best friends were Sarah and Akhila. For no reason, we were fond of making pen friends. We used reader’s digest for that.

We enjoyed adventures like — connecting to these pen friends who were complete strangers, sneaking out of school and bunking the school, parties without the knowledge of our parents and much other stuff that actually cannot be exposed.

My mother’s kitchen was not very interesting though, as it was quite the modern one by then. But my grandmother’s kitchen was antique. It was a long dark room which had a roof made of bricks. It had three doors, one which gave an inlet to her bedroom, and two doors that gave an outlet to the backyard.

The long kitchen was filled with beautiful vessels, steel and wood. The room didn’t have sufficient light as there was only one tube light to such a huge room. The kitchen itself smelled quite delicious too. There were jars of traditional pickles, toffees, rose cakes, and other stored foods. She made the world’s yummiest foods. I would sneak into her kitchen to pick out some yummy food. Her kitchen was quite an ocean filled with treasures.
