(i) Plasma - It is a fluid part, constitutes 60 percent of

blood .

(ii) Cellular elements - Here the components are Red

blood cells( erythrocytes) , White

blood cells(leukocytes) , and Blood

platelets ( thrombocytes ) .

The major function of blood is :

• Transportation of digested food, oxygen , carbon dioxide, waste materials , hormones , body heat regulation .
• Blood forms a clot that serves to prevent from further loss of blood and the entry of pathogens.
