Causes of poverty in India are as follows:-
1. population explosion:-rapid growth of population is highly responsible for poverty.
2. high illiteracy rate:-the weaker sections of the society have to take up low paid jobs due to lack of knowledge.
3. bad state of agriculture:-due to poor state of agriculture, labour and land productivity is low in India.
4. low level of economic growth:-due to low level of economic growth, many people are still living below poverty line.
