Democratic traditions are needed to be implemented in democracies for the deepening as well as strengthening of democracies . The factors strengthening such traditions include;
1) Holding regular elections at all levels, especially the lowest panchayati level to strengthen the federal system in the democracy.
2) To practice fair means of winning elections and formulating policies to improve the development of the country.
3) Practice and maintain the authority of the judiciary
4). Broader aspects of democracy implies that the very idea of democracy goes beyond merely casting one's vote
5). The very strength of democracy lies in how active alert and vigilant its citizens are.
6). The success of democracy can be attributed to the fact that people are complaining, are criticising government's policies are offering alternatives.
7) . The role of the citizens in a democracy is not only restricted to mere casting vote and electing government , but in being constantly aware and vigilant.
8). A citizen must play a pro active role in keeping a watch on the government and its representatives.
9). Must voice his opinions freely, must make demands on the system and must complaint,the fact that people are complaining shows its success
10). The responsibility rests with citizens of the country who can make the government more accountable and answerable by being vigilant and alert. One can give example of Right to Information which was the result of people's action to make government more transparent and responsive, Role of media in exposing corruption.
11). Merely establishing democratic rule is not enough, one must strive to bring about legal and constitutional changes that ensure effective participation of people.
12). We have to strive for fair and fair elections,must press for political reforms .
13). Encourage more participation of the people, through groups, movements and also through media.
