About 50% of the roads are unmetalled.
Keeping in view the volume of traffic and passengers the road network is inadequate.
The National highways are also inadequate.
This limits their usage during the rainy season.
Most of the bridges and culverts are old and narrow.
Moreover, the roads are highly congested in cities.
