Explanation:

There are various types of farming practices done in India. They are:

  • Subsistence Farming- When farming is done to satisfy local wants and needs, which is the very primitive type of farming.
  • Commercial Farming- When farming is done on a large scale for supplying it to international markets.
  • Mixed Farming - In this method along with crop cultivation, farmers’ rear livestock, dairy farming, and poultry go hand in hand.
  • Plantation Farming - It is growing the same plant in a very large area that would yield fruits for the long term. Rubber, coffee, bananas, coconut, oil palm, etc.
  • Crop Rotation - When crops are grown in a preset planned way, which means growing two to three crops in the consecutive seasons. It keeps the soil fertile. Like growing Rabi and Kharif crops alternately.
