The four features of Harappan cities are:-
1. Harappan cities were developed on a precise grid pattern. They were walled off. The buildings and homes in the cities were usually two or three stories in stature, and they were made of bricks that were dried in kilns.
2.The most unique feature of the Harappan civilization was the development of domestic architecture.
3. Great Bath: the Great Bath of Mohenjo-Daro is of great importance, people used to take a bath in this on a religious occasion.
4. Town planning: the excavations of various Harappan civilization shows that the people lived in properly planned towns. Evidence had suggested that people followed a proper grid pattern. However, they built the granaries above the ground which represents that they wanted to keep the stored grain away from rats and other insects.

The Harappan cities were generally divided into two- the raised area-'Citadel', and the lower town. The Citadel was more in height because the buildings in it were built on mud brick platforms. This area was separated from the lower town by a wall.The citadel had within its fold important buildings.the lower town,on the other hand had residential dwellings.
