1. It grows well in tropical and subtropical climate.
2. It requires deep and humus rich soil.
3. It requires warm and frost free days. The temperature should be between 20 - 30 degree celcius.
4. It requires around 150-250 cm of rainfall throughout the answer.

it needs to 50 cm of well disturbance rainfall and above 25 Celsius of moderate temperature for its growth. Hill slopes are best suited for tea plantation.
