alluvial soil :

mostly these soils contain adequate proportion of potash and lime which are ideal for the growth of sugarcane , paddy , wheat , etc..

this soil is a result of deposits of river. it is a very fertile soil

black soil :

this soil is made of clayey material and is well known for its capacity to hold water. it is rich in soil nutrients such as calcium carbonate ,magnesium , potash and lime but it is poor in phosphoric contents . it develops deep cracks during summer which helps in proper aeration of soil

arid soil:

it have colour ranging from red to brown. they are generally sandy in texture and saline in nature. in some areas salt content is high and common salt can be obtained by evaporating water . the lower part of the soil is occupied by kankar because of calcium carbonate.

red soil :

formed due to weathering of igneous and metamorphic rocks. it is highly porous and less fertile but where it is deep it is fertile . it is less crystalline.

it is red in colour due to the presence of iron in it.
