Yes. Once, I was about 7 or 8, I think. My little sister was around 4 years old and obviously, I did not want to play with her, so I sneaked out of the house and went to play 3 houses down with my cousin. My mom was home, my dad was working in the mechanic shop downstairs, I hadn’t done anything crazy wrong, I simply felt that I wanted to play with kids my age, instead of babysitting her. My father came out of the mechanic shop with rage in his eyes, I knew I was going to get it, I did not know why, but I knew, of course, he was always abusive. Then, I saw a bunch of welding metal in his hand. I have never seen it here in the U.S., but it is very thin, copper colored wire that people used in Brazil to repair metal things with, I am sure they have it here, I have just never seen it myself. He started screaming at me about leaving my sister behind and I had to take care of her and such things. He beat me on my face, my back, legs, arms, everywhere he could until we got back up the street into the house.
