The Bhimbetka Rock Paintings

The Bhimbetka rock shelters are part of India's prehistory that contains archaeological evidences as well as paintings of Prehistoric and Mesolithic ages. It is located in the Raisen District of Madhya Pradesh.

The paintings drawn here were made using paint made from leaves and coloured rocks. These paintings included those of animals such as bisons, boars and horses (this depicts hunting) and the festivals celebrated by these early homo-sapiens (depicts their culture).

Attached below is a picture in the Bhimbetka caves that depict the festivals celebrated by the them probably when they got huge hunts or when the seasons changed.
