2. It is found in the Deccan plateau spread over Maharashtra, Saurashtra, Malwa, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
3. Black soil is rich in calcium carbonate, potash, magnesium, lime. 4. It is well known for their capacity to hold moisture.
5. It is ideally suited for the cultivation of cotton.Also known as black cotton soil.
