Three factors which can cause overloading are
(i) When the live wire and the neutral wire come into direct contact.
(ii) Accidental hike in the supply voltage.
(iii) By connecting too many appliances to a single socket.

Heya!
Causes of overloading:-
* If too many electrical appliances of high power ratings are switched on at the same time, then they would draw extremely large current from the electric circuit which is known as overloading the circuit.
* Overloading may occur when too many electrical appliances are connect to a single socket.
* Overloading may also occur due to any accidents like in supply of voltage.
