In the 20th century, cricket was changed forever a traditional game evolved to fit a changing modern world.
The following changes have taken place in the game of cricket in 20th century
(i) Now in the place of five days test matches, one-day international became very popular.
(ii) Kerry Packer made cricket as a marketable game, which could generate huge revenue.
(iii) Television coverage expanded the audience for the game and thus made a global market for cricket. Cricket boards became rich by selling television rights to television companies.
(iv) Continuous television coverage made cricketers celebrities. Besides being paid better by the cricket board, players made large sums of money by doing commercials for a wide range of products.
