Developing (present progressive tense) countries have:

Strong social structure for law and justice,

A population willing to spend much less than it earns- yielding a current account surplus

A population without jealousy and/or envy of success

A population willing and able to accept and underwrite risks

A government structure trusted and responsive, and also prudent and conservative

A population willing to work hard at WHATEVER needs to be done

A population which respects learning, education and diversity- 18th Century Scotland for example.

I guarantee this population will be prosperous and successful in two generations; like Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, the Baltics.
