The Himalayan rivers form large basins i.e. Many rivers pass through the Himalayas. Many of them make spectacular gorges.A gorge is a deep, narrow valley with very steep sides, usually where a river passes through mountains or an area of hard rock. The Himalayan rivers are perennial rivers as they originate in snow covered Himalayan mountains.
