forms of power sharing :

1. vertical division of power :

here the power is shared between different levels of the government. there is. a government for the entire country called as union govt and there may be government at the provincial levels. the provincial level govt is called with different name in different countries. in diverse countries like india, there is third level of govt called local government. Power of each level is specified in the Constitution. Each level is answerable to people.

2. horizontal division of power :

here power is shared among the different organs of the country namely the legislature , the executive and the judiciary.

this system is known as the system of checks and balances. Each organ checks the functioning of others and no organ is able to exercise unlimited power.

3. sharing power with the different groups :

community government in Belgium is The good example of this sharing of power. Such a govt has powers regarding the language, religion and culture related issues.

And power call also be shared among different pressure groups and religious groups to deal with their problems.
