In the 19th century, there were several major obstacles encountered by the cotton weavers such as the exaggerated cost of raw materials, competition with the machines which has been imported, affordable international cotton goods and also the rate of export was considerably decreased.

Various problems faced by workers are as follows;

The cost of the raw cotton was raised: The enhanced rate of raw supplies doubles the production value which ends in raising the cost of final commodities after manufacturing.

The imported machines turned out to be significant difficulties for the cotton weavers. this happened because the cheap machines made goods substituted the expensive handmade commodities.

Due to the expanded cost of handcrafted cotton merchandises, people displaced such goods with affordable machine-made goods and thus their exportation decreased which brought weavers into debt.
