The major problems faced by the Indian cotton weavers in the 19th century was that the machineries were very expensive for the weavers to afford them.The work was very time consuming and also the export markets were creating and issue that collapsed suddenly which lead to the shortage in the cotton and also the price increased of the raw cotton.

iii. They could not get sufficient supply of raw cotton of goods quality. When the American civil war broke out and cotton supplies from the U.S. were cut off, Britain turned to India. Indian weavers were forced to buy cotton at a very high price.
