The three sources of irrigation in the village of Palampur were :

1- Rain : Rain had been the primary source of water for irrigation from ancient times . Irrigation in India largely depends upon the rainfall . Farmers of Palampur were also dependent upin rain to irrigate their fields .

2- Persian wheels: Persian wheels are used to draw water from well and irrigate a small patch of land .

3- Tubewells : With the introduction of Green revolution and flourishment of industrialisation , farmers in Palampur started using tubewells that uses electricity to draw water from ground and irrigate large piece of land .
