Answer:

The day before Arjuna’s son, Abhimanu was killed in the vyuha formation. Jayandranath had blocked the way for Radheya and cut his bow.  No one slept that night, all the Pandavas were in despair.  All that they could remember was the last vision of Abhimanu smiling on his chariot before he entered the vyuha.  Arjuna made the solemn oath:  “I swear in the name of fire and my beloved Ghandiva.  I will kill Jayandranath before the sun sets tomorrow.  If I do not kill him, I will enter the blazing fire with the Gandiva in my hand”.  Arjuna threw off his cloak of grief and Bheema especially was elated.

Jayandranath was terrified in battle and ran away from the field.  Durydohana knew that the killing of Abhimanyu was not righteous and promised Jayadranath that they would guard him closely.  This was the 14th day of the war.  Arjuna was plowing through the army.  The heads were rolling off the trunks in quick succession.  Arjuna entered the 2nd vyuha.  The sun was slowly going down that day and Arjuna’s horses began to look tired.  They were losing speed and his horses desperately needed water. Arjuna shot an arrow into the ground and a clear lake sprung up and his horses drank deeply.  What a miracle Arjuna was able to do with his bow and arrows.

Durydohana continued to try to protect Jayandranath from harm.  Bheema was worried about Arjuna and helped him fight off more warriors.  Radheya came to challenge him.  Finally, Khrishna summoned Arjuna and declared that it was not possible by ordinary means to kill Jayanath before sunset.  So Krishna told Arjuna to shot his arrow when he shouted “Shoot” Krishna swiftly threw his chakra in the direction of the sun and it briefly covered the sun’s rays.  It seemed as if it were night.  Everyone was looking at the sun because it set so quickly.  Jayandranath lifted his head to look at the sun with the rest of his men and Krishna yelled, “Shoot”.  The arrow cut through the neck of Jayadranath and severed his head from his body.  Before the head of Jayandranath fell on the ground it soared through the air for hundreds of miles and fell in the lap of Jayadranath’s father, who was performing his evenings prayers.  Another arrow shot through his father’s head and his head split into a thousand fragments.  Arjuna had kept his promise and more.

Radheya was on the other side of the field and had fought with Bheema.  Bheema, having trouble killing him, threw everything at him.  He threw a dead elephant, sword, mace, shield, but Radheya cut or smashed them all.  Finally, Bheema was defenseless and Radheya looked at Bheema touched his chest with the tip of his bow and said to Bheema, “You are a child, go back to the kitchen, you glutton where you belong”.  Of course this was an insult to Bheema’s integrity.

Radheya then fought with Sahadeva.  It ended with the same result.  He said, “Go and fight with someone else, I am too good for you”.  With that he touched Sahadeva with the tip of his arrow.  Radheya was on a rampage to kill all.  Only Arjuna or Ghatokacha could kill him.  In the middle of the night Radheya fought with Bheema and Hidimbi’s son, Ghatokacha.
