______________________________

ATOMIC SPECTRUM :-

>> It consists of several line where in each line represent a specific wavelength so, it is a discontinuous spectrum.

>> every atom of different element has a specific spectrum by which the element is identified so atomic spectrum is called fingerprint of an atom

>> Elements like Rubidium, thallium, indium gallium and scandium were discovered by spectroscopic method.

Atomic spectrum can be defined as: The range of electromagnetic radiation which are readily absorbed or emitted by an atom is called atomic spectrum. Electrons absorb energy to move form their ground energy state to a higher one. When they move from their excited state back to to their ground state, they emit radiation corresponding to the energy difference between the two orbitals.

So every chemical element has a unique atomic spectra.
