In 1913 Neil bohr overcame the limitation of Rutherford Model and propose a model of atomic structure.

following are the postulates:

1) electrons revolve around a centrally located Heavy small and positively charged nucleus in certain discrete Orbit.

2) while revolving in discrete Orbit the electrons do not radiate energy.

3)these discrete orbits of shells are called energy shell. these orbits are represented by the letter K L M N on the number n

n =1,2,3,4.......

3)energy is emitted or absorbed by an atom only when an electrons move from one Orbit to another.

Hope it helps
