Without a black hole a galaxy can't exist. Every black hole has its own mass and thus it sucks everything inside it even light. Between the hole there is a point called the singularity where everything shrinks to a point. Black holes are formed only when a heavenly body dies and collapses under its own mass. As said it may happen in a case of hypernovae or supernovae.
