Sectional Interest Group: They promote the interests of a single group of society. The groups which seek to promote the interest of a particular section or group of a society are called sectional interest groups. These types of groups do not promote collective interests, but only promote sectional interests.

Public interest groups promote collective rather than selective good. Their aim is to help groups other than own members e.g., BAMCEF (Backward and Minorities Community Employees Federation).
