1. Decomposition Reaction - In decomposition reaction a, compound breaks it into two or more substances . This kind of reaction generally happens when a compound is heated or electricity is passed through it . For example, when we heat calcium carbonate ,calcium oxide and carbon dioxide are produced. Similarly , when electricity is passed through a mixture of water and sulphuric acid ,then hydrogen and oxygen gases are produced.
2. Combination Reaction - The chemical reaction in which two or more simple substances ( reactants) combine to form a complex compound is called a combination reaction. An example of combination reaction is the formation of carbon dioxide when carbon burns in oxygen.
