1.) Organism with particular trait may be naturally selected which can provide a survival advantage. This I known as natural selection.

2.) An accident in small populations may result in surviving of organisms with a particular variant only. 

3.) A species can be separated by their respective group because of physical barriers. This is called geographic isolation.

4.) A slight change in genetic information cam also help in increase in population. This is known as mutation.
