When a volume of a given mass of water is cooled from 7 degree Celsius to 1 degree Celsius, Its volume first decreases then again increases.
1) This can be explained by the phenomenon of Anomalous Expansion of water.
2) At 4 degree celsius the density of water is maximum. Contrarily, the volume of water will be minimum.
3) So, when the volume of given mass of water is cooled from 7 degree to 4 degree, the volume will decrease.
4) Again, when it is further cooled from 4 degree celsius to 1 degree celsius, the volume will increase.
