The Harappan Civilisation was discovered first in 1921 at the side of Punjab, present day province of Punjab and Pakistan. The town planning was followed there. The town was divided into two parts i.e. upper town( citadel) and the lower town. The citadel was the residential area. The lower was the storehouse of grains. The city was destroyed and rebuilt nine times at the same site. There was a well developed drainage .
