Describe briefly the mechanism of opening and closing of stomata or write down the various steps involved in the opening and closing of stomata?​

Opening and closing of stomata is due to change in the turgidity of guard cells.

During day ,when photosynthesis occurs,it produce sugars,due to which it increased osmotic pressure of guard cells,and thus endosmosis occurs and thus guard cell turgid and stomata opens. Whereas is night sugar converted to starch and decrease the osmotic pressure of guard cells and exosmosis occurs and thus guard cells become flaccid and stomata close.
