Explanation:

The Hellenistic Period was marked by the rule of the Macedonian Empire over Greece. Located in a region north of Greece, they were considered barbaric by the Greek people. Led by Philip II they conquered all of Greece in 338 BC marking the beginning of the period. Philip died in battle but his throne remained with his son, Alexander the Great, who came to power in 336 BC Alexander had been educated by Greek culture and had classes with Aristotle, which marked his path of conquest of the peoples of the East.

Alexander the Great, was primarily responsible for the Hellenistic culture that marked the period. In addition to maintaining the domains already conquered by his father, he headed east, conquering new lands and making his empire an extensive empire.
