Consumerism is social or economic sequence encouraging collection of goods and services in an increasing way.

Industrial revolution of 20th century leads to an economic downfall and there was overproduction where supply of goods grows beyond consumers demand and so manufacturers turned to planned obsolescence and advertising to upgrade consumers expenses.

Waste products are unwanted materials.

Waste is a substance which is discarded after general use or is worthless, defective and of no use.

By-product is joint product of relatively minor economic value.

Waste product can become by-product, joint product or resource through an invention that raises waste product's value above level zero.
