\textbf{Cuboidal epithelium :}

A simple epithelium tissue in which, cells are cube like in shape.

◾ The nucleus is round in shape.

◾ Nucleus is present in the center.

\textbf{Function:}

◾ It involves in secretion and absorption.

\textbf{Location:}

◾ In tubular part of nephron(DCT).

◾ Duct of glands.

◾ Thyroid follicle.

◾ Covering of testes and ovaries, here it is known as "Germinal epithelium".

\textbf{Modifications in cuboidal epithelium:}

\textbf{Microvilli:} Cytoplasmic finger like structural projections, that increases the surface area for absorption.

◾ The the cuboidal epithelium that possesses microvilli is known as "Brush bordered cuboidal epithelium" due to brush like appearance of microvilli on the cuboidal cell.

◾ It is present in PCT (Proximal convulated tubule).
