Describe cyclic process of first law of thermodynamics

The first law of thermodynamic says

Q=W+∆U;where Q is heat supplied to the system, W is work done by the system &∆Uis change in internal energy. In cyclic process initial state is the final state ,so ∆U=0,,then Q=W.But in non-cyclic process,∆U=Uf-Ui and not equal to zero.

In a cyclic process the system returns to its initial state and so the internal energy is not changed. From the First Law: ... The 1st Law of Thermodynamics: When a system changes from one state to another, the change in internal energy is the heat added to the system less the work done by the system
