Danby wasn't able to collect the all the information about the occupants of the house.When he was supposed to be successful in his robbery at Shotover Grange,he felt like sneezing and he sneezed.Suddenly a lady called him and threatened him that she would call the police to arrest him.She called herlself as the owner's wife. She made a untrue story that her husband wasn't at home and she wanted to go for a party and for that she needed the jewels. She told him that she forgot the secret number of the safe and if he opens the safe for her she would leave him without calling the police.
Therefore, Danby asked her that would there be any problem if he breaks the safe then the lady replied that until her husband returns she would fix another safe. Listening this Horace broke the safe without putting on his gloves and gave the jewels to her which was a great mistake he did which later caused Horace to get arrested.
