There are majorly five types of leucocytes namely neutrophils, acidophils, basophils, monocytes and lymphocytes.
Explanation:
Neutrophils contribute largest number of leucocytes. These appear immediately after infection.
Basophils are the cells that get activated after infection. But they occur in low number.
Eosinophils act on bacteria and parasites.
Lymphocytes are called scavengers or policemen of the body.
Acidophild generate prolactin.
WBC or leucocytes life span are 3-7 days and maximum upto 10 days. They are white in colour, only nucleated blood cell and amoebic in shape because they act as phagocytosis move through pseudopodia .
They are divided into two category bases on the granules and staining :-
