Direct benefits from the forests:-

1). Forest provides wood: -

Wood produced in the forests is un important source of fuel. Wood is also used for making furniture.

2). Forests provide minor forest produce :-

Forests provide a large number of minor produce which are essential for industries such as lac, gum, honey, wax, bamboo, medicinal herbs, etc.

3). Forests provide materials for basic industries:-

wood grass and bamboo are useful raw material for several industries

4). Grazing land for animals:-

Forests provide natural pastures for grazing animals.

5). Helps in Small Scale Industries:-

Small Scale Industries are developed trom the minor forest provide like Tendupatta, Cane, Honey, Wax etc

Indirect benifits from the forests are as follows:-

1). Control Soil erosion -

Trees firmly enclose and considerably reduces so erosion. Trees hold the fertile top layer of the soil.

2). Rain bearers-

Forests are considered as rain bearers

3). Increases water level:-

Water level in ponds, tanks, river and streams is Maintained by them.

4). Increase soil fertility:-

Leaves of the trees fall in the forest area, decompose and make the soil fertile.

Forests attract tourists, as they increase the natural beauty
