During a single cycle the blood goes twice in the heart ,this os Know as double circulation.It is necessary in human being to separate the oxygenated and deoxygenated blood because this makes their circulatory system more efficient and helps in maintaining constant body temperature.

In Human beings blood travels twice through the heart Deoxygenated blood is pumped from heart to the lungs, and oxygenated blood returns to the heart from lungs for pumping into different organs of the body.
It is necessary because human beings are warm blooded animals, we need to maintain our body temperature as we require high energy so we require oxygen at higher rate so we cannot tolerate the mixing of blood( oxygenated and Deoxygenated) .
