Indian Railways. It is the backbone of Indian transport. 105 km long railway line from Ryapuram to Arcot is situated at the southern part of the country. There is a rail route between Kolkata and Mumbai and the main line is from Mughal Sarai to Lahore.
Another important route is Jammu to Udhampur, its length is about 55km. Konkan railway route is 837km. In India, the distance of around 14 lakh km is coverd by 13 thousand trains.
