Hey There! The First law of motion states that an object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in motion at a constant velocity unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

As we all know that Newton’s 2nd law of motion states that'

The  Rate of change in momentum of any body is = Resultant force acting on the body on the direction of particular resultant force. ║

⇒ So by this we can say that the the resultant force acting in any body is zero just because of the balance force then the rate of momentum change is also tends equal to zero. So it proves that final and initial momentum as well as velocities are equal.

Hence , From Second Law of Motion,

F = ma

If there isn't any external force is applied on the body then here ,  F= 0,

Therefore , ma = 0

∵ m ≠ 0

 then, a = 0

so it proves that the body is either at rest or in the uniform motion.

Hence this further proves, If there isn't any external force is on the body then body is in the state of rest or in the uniform motion.

Hope it Helps :-)
