describe five form of condensation
Answers
There are 4 forms of condensation:-
- Dew
- Fog
- Frost
- Mist
1) Dew:-
When the moisture is deposited in the form of water droplets on cooler surfaces of solid objects (rather than nuclei in air above the surface) such as stones, grass blades and plant leaves, it is known as dew.
2) Fog:-
When the temperature of an air mass containing a large quantity of water vapour falls all of a sudden, condensation takes place within itself on fine dust particles.
3) Frost:-
Frost forms when an outside surface cools past the dew point. The dew point is the point where the air gets so cold, the water vapor in the atmosphere turns into liquid. This liquid freezes.
4) Mist:-
Mist is also formed by water droplets, but with less merging or coalescing. This means mist is less dense and quicker to dissipate.

⌦ Condensation:
➛When the temperature of saturated air falls, the water vapour in it gets converted from the gaseous state to the liquid or solid state. This process is called condensation.
⌦ Different forms of condensation are:
- ➛Clouds: Formed when water vapour in air condenses around dust particles into tiny droplets of water. In the basis of their appearance and the height at which they occur, clouds can be classified into -- cirrus, stratus, cumules and nimbus.
- ➛Dew: Formed when moist air comes in contact with a cool surface such as grass and condenses into droplets of water.
- ➛Frost: Formed when dew occurs in the form of ice crystals.
- ➛Fog: Formed when condensation takes place in the lower layers of the atmosphere, close to the land surface or above water bodies.
