Characteristics of Bhramaputra river--

1) Bhramaputra originates in Tibet east of lake mansarowar and flows eastward parallel to himalyas, on reaching Namcha Barwa it takes a 'u ' turn and enters India in Arunachal Pradesh.

2) Its basins are Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

3) Its lenght is 3,848km long.

4) Bhramaputra is known as Tsang Po in Tibet and Jamuna in Bangladesh.

5) It carries small volume of water and less amount of silt in Tibet because it is a cild and a dry area whereas in India it passes through the rigions having high rainfall so it carries large volume of water and considerable amount of silt.
