A shipwreck brought Gulliver to the shores of Brobdingnag where he was spotted and taken into custody by a farmer. Gulliver noticed that everything, including inanimate objects, in the land was giant sized. They had no consideration for a normal average sized human being. So, he was used as a showpiece of entertainment.

The natives of the land were allowed to learn and excel only in Mathematics, morality, poetry and history. Women had no qualms about feeding babies in public. The Brobdingnagians had an army to fight civil wars, but the number of wars were generally lesser in number. They had their own set of straightforward laws that were expressed in simple and plain terms. No law statement exceeded the number of letters in their alphabet. Commenting on any law was a serious offense and considered a crime.
