The most known risk of transgenic animals is how they would affect the environment and human health

First off there is the risk that it could escape and mate with others of the same species. If they did that it could infect the whole species with a gene which is either good or bad for the survival of the species, and for humans who live near them.  There is also the chance of a new disease that could be anything and evolve into anything

Following are the Hazards of transgenic animals:-

  • Proteins :- Genes introduced in various organisms operate through synthesis of polypeptides, proteins and enzymes. However, foreign proteins are generally attacked by the defence system resulting into damaged biochemicals which may prove harmful in the long term.

  • Human organs:- Replaceable human organ like kidneys, liver, heart etc can be obtained by autografts and isografts. It is not ethical to grow such organ.

  • Human cloning :- it is possible to produce clone of any individual, but will destroy the family system.

  • Integrity of species :- with the introduction of genes into various organisms, the integrity of species is violated.
