In 1893, Helen Killer along with Miss Sullivan and Dr. Alexander Graham Bell went on a trip to the World's Fair. It was during this time that she got a chance to visit Midway Plaisance where she saw the Viking ship. She imagined herself to be on the ship that sailed despite all difficulties. The ship reminded her of the struggle that she also had to face in her life.
