Answer:

Homothallic refers to the possession, within a single organism, of the resources to reproduce sexually; i.e., having male and female reproductive structures on the same thallus. The opposite sexual functions are performed by different cells of a single mycelium. It can be contrasted to heterothallic.

Homothallic Fungi are the fungi whose gametes comes from same thallus or parent for fertilization to take place. These are genetically identical. Ex, Rhizopus sexualis.

Heterothallic Fungi are the fungi whose gaemetes comes from two separate thalli or parents. These are genetically non identical. Ex, Rhizopus Stolenifer.

Hope it helps! ;-))
