Methods to prevent pregnancy or birth control
- Hormonal : By using various contraceptives to prevent the secretion of progesterone. Example: IUCD ( Intra Uterine Contraceptive Devices) , vaginal ring etc.
- Chemical : By using various oral or vaginal pills.
- Surgical : By doing vasectomy (surgery in testis) in males or tubectomy in females (surgery in fallopian tube)
What is contraception?
The methods applied or the process to stop unwanted pregnancy is called contraception.
The devices used for contraception are called contraceptive devices
