Cylinder and cube are alike and different.

Cylinder:

The two ends of the geometric solid in the cylinder are known as bases. The bases are parallel, congruent and same to each other. If the base and unroll is not taken then only thing we can find is the rectangle. Example of cylinder is pepsi can.

Cube:

When six identical squares joined together along with their edge then cube is formed. At one corner three edges are joined. The cube is also called as regular Hexahedron. Example of cube is ice cube.

Hence, both cylinder and cube are alike having difference shape. Cube has 6 flat faces which are square while cylinder has 2 flat faces and one curved face. Even the base of cylinder is circular in shape while the base of cube is square.
