Seawater is transferred into constructed pits. Here it is kept for evaporation. We know sea water has dissolved salts. Evaporation is physical process that converts water into vapours. So the water slowly evaporates and the salt is left behind. This is how salt is separated from seawater.
These pits are kept clean and nothing from outside is added to them.

Answer :-
Common salt from sea water
=> Sea water is trapped in large, shallow pools and allowed to stand there. The sun's heat evaporates the water slowly and common salt is left behind.
