Democracy:

  • It is the form of government in which representatives are elected by people.
  • It is the rule of majority.
  • It is the government of the people, for the people and by the people.

How Democracy ensures equality and justice for all:

  • India is the world's largest Democracy.
  • In Democracy people select their representatives by the means of elections.
  • Representatives are chosen according to the will of people.
  • There is no discrimination on the basis of caste, color, creed, gender etc.
  • People are given equal rights like right to education, right to equality, right to freedom etc.
  • Despite of these rights some laws are also introduced.
  • There is no dictatorship in Democracy.
  • In dictatorship single party has the power.
  • The opposition party obstructs the ruling party to become a dictator.
  • Hence, these things ensure equality and justice for all in Democracy.
